1. Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of first Sikh Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

2. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born at Nanakana Sahib (now in Pakistan) and is considered as the founder of Sikhism.
