Republic Day 2020

Republic Day 2020 was celebrated on 26th January 2020, Sunday. This year it was the 71st Republic Day which was celebrated with the same patriotism and grandeur. The day commemorates the date when the Constitution of India came into force on 26th January, 1950.

This was the day when India became independent democratic republic country with its own constitution. It was the great day when the constitution declares that the government will be 'of the people, by the people and for the people'. It gives the power in the hands of  its citizen to elect its government and work for the welfare and development of the country.

Republic Day 2020 Celebration

Republic Day 2020 was celebrated in every corner of the country by each and every citizen with great patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. However the major attraction was at Rajpath, New Delhi where the main celebration took place.

Republic Day 2020 Chief Guest

The Chief Guest for the 2020 Republic Day celebration was the President of Brazil, Mr. Jair Bolsonaro. Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi invited Mr. Bolsonaro during his meeting held at the BRICS Summit last year.

Republic Day Parade 2020 Highlights

Republic Day Parade is the one of the greatest highlights of the Republic Day celebration in India. It is the occasion when the country showcases its defense capability to the world and the cultural diversity of the country. This year also the Republic Day Parade 2020 carried out the great tradition of India's Unity in Diversity culture.

The R-Day Parade 2020 was carried out at Rajpath, New Delhi after the flag hoisting by the Honourable President of India, Sri Ram Nath Kovind.

The major highlight of the parade was the fly past of the recently inducted Apache and Chinook Helicopters. Rafale showcased in the tableau of the Indian Air Force including indigenous developed Tejas Aircraft and Aakash and Astra missiles.

Security was beefed up across the country especially in New Delhi for the Republic Day.  Police patrolling was intensified and most modern security measures were deployed in the capital.

Buying Tickets for the Republic Day Parade 2020

The tickets for the 71st Republic Day was started selling from 07th January to 25th January at the following locations:

Pragati Maidan - Gate No. 1

Jantar Mantar - Main Gate

Shastri Bhawan - Gate No. 3

Jamnagar House - Opposite of India Gate

Red Fort Near 15 Park and Opp. Jain Temple

Republic Day Parade Ticket Cost

The price for the Republic Day Parade ranges from Rs. 20 to Rs. 500 depending on the seat availability and distance. 

Tickets with the denomination 20 and 50 will be unreserved.

Glimpse of the Republic Day Parade 2020

The Republic Day celebration was started by the unfurling the Indian Flag by Honourable President of India Sri Ram Nath Kovind. Honorable Chief Guest, Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi and all the dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
